Democrats are prepared for Trump to attempt anything and everything to keep away from turning into a lame duck president if Democrats win all or half of Congress in the midterm election.

While the same fringe right-wing zanies have been calling for Trump to impose martial regulation to cease the midterm election, which is something they have been saying that Trump should do since 2018- even though it wouldn’t work because the president has no federal authority over elections- there is a much more reasonable Trump risk that Democrats have been making ready for.

The risk has never been that Trump will cease the election, because he can’t. Trump, by his own actions, is admitting that he can’t cease the election from occurring, which is why he has been making an attempt to rig the final result.

The actual risk is that Trump is going to attempt to use the energy of the presidency to form the final result of the election. The president has already tried to do this by ordering the USPS to write guidelines regarding mail-in ballots, which the Supreme Court blocked.

Trump, like all aspiring authoritarians, needs a pretense of democracy while secretly rigging the outcomes in his favor.
