NFL reviewing Rashod Bateman’s arrest after Ravens receiver was in alleged household violence incident

Following reports on Friday of Ravens broad receiver Rashod Bateman’s June arrest, the NFL is launching its own investigation into the matter.

“The club has been in contact with the league regarding the matter, which is under review of the personal conduct policy,” chief NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said, according to a Friday ESPN report.

If the NFL finds that Bateman violated the coverage, he would serve an unpaid suspension of six video games.

Bateman, 26, was arrested on June 3 in a home incident during which authorities say he smashed the windshield and driver’s facet window of the automobile of the alleged sufferer, according to court docket data obtained by TMZ.

The couple’s 3-month-old baby was also in the automobile, and the mom suffered cuts to her face from the damaged glass.

The Ravens wideout is going through expenses of household violence battery, reckless conduct, and legal harm to property in the first diploma, which is a felony.

According to Bateman’s attorneys, he surrendered to the Walton County Sheriff later that same day.

Bateman was not current for Baltimore’s voluntary offseason exercises in May and June because of “some personal things,” according to Ravens defensive coordinator Declan Doyle at the time, but it’s unclear if his absence was straight associated to his arrest.

Since being drafted by the Ravens with the No. 27 decide of the 2021 NFL Draft, Bateman has suffered a number of accidents that have held him to just 64 video games in 5 seasons.

During his time in the league, Bateman has recorded 2,147 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns.
