Hegseth appeared to be making an attempt to save his job with a plan to publicly execute and livestream the killing of the Fort Hood shooter.

After a new ballot confirmed that 81% of Americans oppose the livestreaming of the execution, Donald Trump pulled the plug on Hegseth’s plan.

Trump wrote on Truth Social, and tried to throw Barack Obama under the bus:

Nidal Malik Hasan, a former U.S. Army Major turned traitor, is a very dangerous and evil man, who killed 13 folks, including a pregnant soldier, who died, alongside with her unborn son, and injured, very critically, 32 more harmless folks. Barack Hussein Obama’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intercepted digital communications between Hasan and the radical Yemeni-American cleric, Anwar al-Awlaki. When reviewed by his FBI terrorism process power, investigators concluded that Hasan’s emails were not a menace. This evaluation of the Obama Administration’s actions was later thought-about to be a key intelligence failure.

It is a basic signal of a Trump deflection when he blames Obama or Biden.

Trump doesn’t appear to care about much of anything, but vandalism and corruption, so for him to overrule Hegseth on this is an ominous signal.
