The Mets continued their sell-off and the Pirates lastly got their nearer.
Luke Weaver was traded to the Pirates forward of Monday’s MLB commerce deadline in a main transfer for the National League wild-card contenders.
The expectation is for Weaver, under group management through the 2027 season, is to transfer into the nearer function in Pittsburgh.

In return, the Mets will get back infielder Sammy Stafura from the Pirates, their No. 9 prospect, per the Post’s Joel Sherman.
The Mets’ high setup man has a 1.84 ERA this season with a 2-1 document in 44 innings pitched as one of the lone brilliant spots for the struggling group in Queens.
