Democrats’ absurd push to downplay noncitizen voting and block Voter ID

Californians have been informed for months or even years: Noncitizen voting is as legendary as Bigfoot.

Well, we just had a few sightings.

As the California Post reported, federal authorities on Monday charged 28 overseas nationals with alleged election-related crimes, including illegally registering to vote and, in some instances, casting votes in previous elections.

The feds called “Operation Protect the Vote” the largest voter fraud bust in state historical past.

And it underscores a primary reality in California: Fraud of all sorts has run amok for years; it wants to finish; and state voters in November would do nicely to support Prop. 39, the Voter ID act — to assist guarantee that at least half of it does.

Public religion in California’s voting system has faltered, and no surprise: The state has absurdly lax voting procedures.

Sanctuary immigration insurance policies, alongside with a state system that routinely registers some voters, lead many to surprise just how many noncitizens are tucked into California’s voter rolls.

Last week, the Trump administration urged that quantity is at least 20,000, and sued the state over its refusal to segregate these voters’ ballots to resolve eligibility questions before they’re counted.

Plus, the state has few guardrails on balloting: Officials paper the state with mail-in ballots with little care over who receives them, who completes them or who returns them.

The California Post has documented alleged instances of homeless Skid Row voters who say they were paid a couple of bucks to vote for specified mayoral candidates. The Post has also discovered hundreds of voters registered utilizing the addresses of short-term homeless shelters — with mail-in ballots presumably flowing to these areas routinely each election cycle, despite restricted mattress house and excessive turnover.

What’s more, poll harvesting — the follow by which political operatives collect reams of paper ballots and submit them on behalf of others, with few if any controls or oversight — is rampant in California.

And then there’s the extended depend after Election Day: California, which takes week to tally ballots, is an worldwide laughingstock. The glacial vote-counting further erodes religion in the election course of when, time after time, Election Night outcomes are reversed as late ballots dribble in lengthy after voting ostensibly ends.

Despite this Dumpster hearth, Democrats preserve asserting that nothing’s amiss.

True to character, California Dems derided Monday’s arrests. Gov. Gavin Newsom’s press account on X shared a lengthy collection of tweets mocking the operation. Others, including Attorney General Rob Bonta — who called the arrests “a drop in the bucket” — were likewise dismissive.

That’s not management. That’s defensive evasion.

Why, after all, would any fair-minded particular person oppose placing a cease to voter fraud, however uncommon or frequent?

Monday’s information affirmed a stark actuality: California politicians have proven less than zero curiosity in ending the state’s vote-system mayhem.

It’s taken the Trump administration to present that sure, some noncitizens are in truth on California’s voter rolls — and some of them have indeed apparently voted.

Which brings us to what state voters can do to enhance election integrity in California:

Pass Prop. 39, the Voter ID act on the Nov. 3 poll.

The Voter ID measure is easy: It would require every voter to either present identification when voting in particular person, or write the last 4 digits of an ID quantity on the poll envelope if voting by mail.

That’s it.

This easy step would tie every poll to a authentic California voter. It would assist forestall noncitizens from voting — rendering federal lawsuits over alleged unlawful voting pointless.

And it would hamper ballot-harvesting machine politics: Political operatives would want to get each voter’s ID quantity before gathering and submitting giant tranches of ballots to be counted.

All these clean ballots perhaps floating around at homeless shelters and elsewhere? With voter ID, Californians could be more assured they’re not being accomplished and returned improperly.

Democrats counter that a Voter ID legislation would deter folks from voting.

But think about it: Does an ID requirement to purchase alcohol deter folks from consuming?

Seems like the only folks Voter ID would deter from voting are folks who shouldn’t be voting in the first place.

Democrats must know that.

Their Bigfoot fable has crumbled.
