Lindsay Clancy sympathizers: Letters

The Issue: Supporters of Lindsay Clancy, who says postpartum psychosis is why she killed her kids .

There is no excuse for what Lindsay Clancy did (“Madness of rooting for a killer,” Bethany Mandel, Aug. 21).

She dedicated premeditated homicide. She particularly requested her husband to go to the retailer, leaving her alone with her helpless kids.

They say she wanted assist but couldn’t get it because she was overly medicated. All she had to do was decide up the cellphone and call 911 and state, “I don’t feel good. I need help.” She knew enough to lie to her husband.

Treating psychological sickness is often a guessing sport for the physician. No one knows what is going through someone’s sick thoughts. These varieties of docs’ work often winds up with them prescribing meds that could be a hit or a miss.

Regardless, Clancy is responsible of homicide.

Mike Caterino

Oxford, Conn.

I’m a former prosecutor who has been following Clancy’s case with nice curiosity. Only in exceedingly uncommon circumstances do I believe that someone who dedicated a horrific act should escape felony legal responsibility. This is one of them.

Clancy, alongside with her kids, are victims, and no one has “forgotten” the kids, as Mandel alleges.

This trial is a sickening spectacle designed to absolve our society of failing this mom while pointing the finger at her so we can really feel superior. After all, none of us would do this, proper?

But how do we know if we’ve never suffered in the manner Clancy did?

She knows what she did to her kids and to herself. This is far worse punishment than any jail sentence could ever impose.

Michael Brautigam

Tallinn, Estonia

People like Clancy or Luigi Mangione worth their own lives so much that they can not conceive of paying a value for extinguishing the lives of others. Instead, they struggle ferociously to save themselves.

As a mom, I can’t perceive how Clancy consciously waited for everyone who would stop the tragedy to go away so she could finish her kids’s lives. Isn’t that premeditation?

Colette Curry

Staten Island

These girls supporting Clancy may have been through a related scenario like her. If you yourself have not been through melancholy, you should not be talking about it.

People who stay in glass homes shouldn’t throw stones.

The Issue: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shifting back to the United Kingdom after six years in America.

As with any head of state’s household, certain requirements must be adopted to instill confidence in the authorities (“The British are going,” Aug. 20).

The Sussexes refused to adhere to the most primary of these rules. They justified their abhorrent habits by claiming they needed to modernize the monarchy. Well, my dears, it was never up to a failed Hollywood actress and her man-child of a husband to do so. That would be up to the British folks and their parliament.

Jeanne Wrobleski

Philadelphia, Pa.

When Grace Kelly came over from America, we Europeans welcomed her with open arms. When John Lennon came over to you, you shot him. Therefore, thank you for sending off Harry and Meghan in time-honored style.

Gerry Hinde

Isle of Portland, UK

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are nothing but spoiled brats who need consideration. They did not get it here.

They trashed the Royal Family and ruined all the offers that were provided to them. These two are principally ineffective folks with no outlined objective in life. Let Britain deal with them from now on.

Gary Acerra

Staten Island
