TikTok has agreed to pay $400m (£293m) to the US to finish a lawsuit alleging its platform violated kids‘s privateness, marking one of the largest ever settlements over the difficulty.

The deal stems from a 2024 swimsuit by the Department of Justice under former President Joe Biden alleging TikTok and its mum or dad firm ByteDance collected “vast amounts of data” on tens of millions of customers under the age of 13.
